| A.M. Best Renews Accident Fund Group’s “A” (Excellent)

February 2007 (LANSING, MICHIGAN) – Accident Fund Group has
again earned an “A” (Excellent) rating from A.M. Best
Company. A.M. Best attributed the positive rating to
historically favorable earnings due to solid underwriting
performance. Other strengths include:
- Strong earning performance in 2006.
- Enhanced operating synergies provided by Accident Fund’s
parent company, Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan.
- Excellent capital position and leadership position within
Michigan’s workers compensation marketplace.
This is the sixth year in a row that Accident Fund Insurance
Company of America earned an “A” (Excellent) rating and the
second year where the rating includes Accident Fund’s
subsidiaries: Accident Fund National Insurance Company,
Accident Fund General Insurance Company and United Wisconsin
Insurance Company—doing business as United Heartland.
Together all four companies operate as Accident Fund Group.
