November 12, 2007 (LANSING, MICH.) — Accident Fund Insurance
Company of America is pleased to announce that National
Vacuum Equipment, Inc. of Traverse City, Mich., is the
recipient of its 2007 WorkSafe Leader Award. The award is
given to the member of Accident Fund’s Group Programs that
demonstrates a commitment to our business partnership and
loss control, and has consistently produced outstanding
results over a five-year period.
National Vaccum has an exceptional loss history with few
work-related injuries. From 2002 to 2006, the company’s loss
ratio was 7.1 percent and they had only one work-related
injury that resulted in time away from the job. The average
loss ratio in the workers compensation industry during that
same period is 73 percent. National Vacuum received a $4,200
dividend from Accident Fund for 2007 results, and has
received more than $21,000 since 2005. Tom Rummel, Accident
Fund’s Group & Association Specialist, said, “National

how to create a culture of workplace safety.”
National Vacuum, founded in 1980, designs, manufactures and
sells premium industrial vacuum equipment for performance in

City Area Chamber of Commerce Group Program since 1999.
“Our Chamber has 300 members who participate in Accident
Fund’s Group Program, and we have returned more than $1.8

Vacuum has been a member of the Chamber for more than 20
years, and they are a model participant in the Group
Program. We are very excited they are receiving this award.”
