Accident Fund Donates $10,000 to Capital Area Center for Independent Living

Accident Fund Insurance Company of America presented a check for $10,000 to the Capital Area Center for Independent Living of Lansing, Mich., at the company’s recent all-employee meeting held at Holt High School.

Accident Fund’s donation will support CACIL’s work providing disability training, mentoring and referrals to help people with disabilities live full and productive lives. CACIL serves individuals in Ingham, Eaton, Clinton and Shiawassee counties.

“We couldn’t be more pleased to support such a worthy organization serving local people with disabilities,” said Keith Adkins, Accident Fund’s vice president of marketing. “Accident Fund has a mission of promoting safety in the workplace and of caring for injured workers when accidents happen. We think supporting CACIL’s outstanding work is a natural extension of that mission.”

"We are very grateful for this gift from Accident Fund. During such a very difficult year, to receive this unexpected and unsolicited gift truly gives us hope for the future and hope for the Mid-Michigan clients we serve.” said Ellen Weaver, executive director of CACIL. “This Accident Fund contribution of unrestricted funds will allow us to direct them to where they are needed most."
