Kingswood Senior Living Community has been named
Accident Fund Insurance Company of America’s Policyholder of the Year for their
commitment to safety in the workplace.
Headquartered in Kansas City, MO., and serving Missouri and Kansas communities
for more than 27 years, Kingswood has been an Accident Fund policyholder since
2007. In partnership with Accident Fund, Kingswood has built a strong safety
program in order to keep workers safe and provide the best care for their senior
residents.
“The proactive safety measures we take on a daily basis allow us to prevent
fires from happening, rather than forcing us to put out fires after the fact,”
said Kingswood Director of Employee Services, Brenda Blake. Accident Fund Loss
Control Consultant Richard Garrett added, “More than anything, it’s their
proactive attitude that sets them apart. They immediately brought me into the
mix as a true partner and used me as an advisor from day one.”
With help from Accident Fund, Kingswood’s cross-departmental safety committee
continually performs regular self-inspections while keeping an eye on their loss
run reports to determine injury trends. These actions have created a dramatic
reduction in injuries over the past three years.
Accident Fund representatives and agency partner, Willis of Greater Kansas,
Inc., will travel to Missouri in October to celebrate this achievement with
Kingswood. Kingswood is Accident Fund’s fourth policyholder to receive this
annual award.
