Celebrate Workplace Safety and Health During NAOSH Week

NAOSH (North American Occupational Safety and Health) Week is a time to celebrate safety and health within your organization. From May 1 to 7, Safety and Health Associations from Canada, United States and Mexico will run campaigns to promote workplace health and safety, and celebrate those whose careers involve keeping workplaces safe.

NAOSH week provides an opportunity to assess your organization to ensure you are doing all you can to promote a safe work environment. Invest time during NAOSH Week to review and update your company’s safety manual, refresh safety training and acknowledge those employees who work safely every day.

Also note that May 4 is Occupational Safety and Health Professional Day. We encourage you to use this day to acknowledge those individuals who have devoted their careers to providing a safe and healthy workplace for employees. You can learn more about NAOSH Week and view ideas for celebrating by visiting the NAOSH website or the websites of those organizations that support safe workplaces everyday, including:  American Society of Safety Engineers, Canadian Society of Safety Engineering and Interdisciplinary Association of Occupational Health and Hygiene of Mexico.

As the WorkSafe People, we provide resources and tools to enhance our policyholders’ safety efforts. Our online Toolbox includes everything you need to help keep your organization safe, including industry toolkits, training modules, safety training videos, safety program tips, WorkSafe Solutions e-blasts, safety materials on a wide variety of topics and helpful links. Be sure to visit our Toolbox frequently to take advantage of all the tools we offer.

Please do your part to help celebrate those who work safely for themselves and those around them during NAOSH Week and beyond!
